The festive period passed in a blur and I’ve just about recovered from over-indulging and being back to work. If, like me, you’re missing the relaxing duration between Christmas and New Years and now the ‘January blues’ have kicked in, these are my favourite Christmas marketing campaigns to temporarily relive the magic of Christmas.
John Lewis – Moz the Monster
I briefly mentioned this in my previous blog post of Recipe for a Christmas Campaign, but I was a big fan of this year’s highly anticipated John Lewis advert. It’s memorable, it’s funny and it’s heartwarming that has become my second favourite Christmas campaign from John Lewis (my all-time fave being The Man on the Moon)
Aldi – Kevin the Carrot
Kevin the Carrot returned for a sweet little Christmas adventure which was met with a really positive reception, becoming the Christmas ad with the most social media engagement (even beating John Lewis) I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Kevin again for 2018 after Aldi implemented tote bags, toys and story books to compliment the advert.
Sainsbury’s – Every Bit of Christmas
Sainsbury’s Christmas effort can be summed up as fun and silly. With a catchy tune sung by different people from all over the UK, this campaign captures the little parts of Christmas which make it exactly as it is – all the food, all the family, all the socks being gifted – very relatable.
